Prescription Drug Drop Box
Marathon County has several prescription drug drop off boxes for citizens and KPD participates in this worthwhile program. While many drop off boxes have limited hours, KPD’s drop off box is available 24/7.
The drop off box is located in the front of the Kronenwetter Municipal Center and is directly under the US Flag. It is a secure box and the program provides privacy to its users.
Twice a year, the prescription medications are boxed up and turned in to be destroyed as part of a county wide program to safely dispose of these drugs. Since its inception, the regional program has safely disposed of thousands of pounds of medications. While we accept most kinds of prescription medications, we do not accept the following:
- Needles and syringes
- Inhalers
- Personal care items
- Vitamins
- IV bags
- Nuclear medications
