Are you a dog owner? Make sure your pup is leashed when leaving your property.
The Kronenwetter Police Department continues to take complaints about loose animals, particularly dogs, that are at large in the Village.
Per ordinance, an “at large animal” means “to be off the premises of the owner and not under the control of some person by leash.”
It is the owner's responsibility to always have their pet under direct control. This includes anytime you take your dog for a walk off your property, including when you’re riding a bicycle and your dog is with you.
Also, it is the pet owner's responsibility to pick up after their pet and dispose of waste properly. Please don’t leave a mess for someone else to clean up.
“I know owners love their pets and rightfully so, but please remember that not everyone loves your pet as much as you do, so please be courteous and respectful to your fellow neighbors by following these rules,” said Police Chief Terry McHugh. “Officers are paying extra attention while on patrol and citations start at almost $100 and increase per violation.”
