Village of Kronenwetter Accepting Applications for Village Board Vacancy
Are you interested in serving the community by being a member of the Village of Kronenwetter Village Board? Due to a recent vacancy, the Village of Kronenwetter is currently accepting applications for Village Trustee. Letters of interest and resumes will be accepted by the application deadline of Tuesday, December 15 at 4 p.m. All applicants will be asked to appear for an interview with the Village Board at a date and time to be determined.
Village Board Trustee Tami Bloch will be relocating outside of the Village boundaries. Mrs. Bloch expressed interest in serving on the Board for the remainder of her term, but Wisconsin Statute 17.03 provides that once a Board member moves outside of the Village, their position becomes vacated. In an effort to move forward with a full seven-member Board, it has been determined that the vacant seat will be filled by appointment of the Village Board in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes. The term of the appointment will expire in April 2024.
Any interested Village of Kronenwetter resident, who is a minimum of 18 years old and a legal citizen of the United States, is hereby welcomed to submit a letter of interest and resume to be considered for appointment to the Village Board. Please submit your letter and resume no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2022, to Village Clerk, Bobbi Birk-LaBarge, at 1582 Kronenwetter Dr., Kronenwetter, WI 54452 or bbirklabarge@kronenwetter.org.
About the Village Board
Village Board members make policy decisions, enact laws, approve an annual budget and act for the overall benefit and best interest of the Village. Regular Village Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month starting at 6pm., and special meetings are scheduled as needed. Village Board Trustees receive compensation of $4200.00 per year which is split into 12 monthly payments.
Appointment Process
The Village Board will conduct interviews of interested candidates at a determined meeting time. The appointment procedure will be as follows:
· The appointment process will be held in Open Session.
· Candidates will be interviewed by the Village Board.
· The Village Board members will take turns asking a question of the interested persons.
· The Village Board will then vote upon the appointment in Open Session.
· The appointee will be seated at the regular Village Board meeting immediately following the meeting where they are appointed.
