As a result of the rain and melting snow late last week, large volumes of clear water entered the Village's sanitary sewer system.  Two of the Village's lift stations were unable to keep up with the increased flows.  In order to prevent any sewer backup into basements, the Utility temporarily bypassed wastewater from the sewers out onto the ground surface at 2201 and 2361 Tower Road.  The wastewater was absorbed by the ground and snow.  However, the area around these two liftstation buildings should be avoided until the additional snow melt and rains flush out the soils.
