All new decks and porches require a building permit. Additions and replacement of steps and railings require a building permit as well. Replace the floorboards of a deck does not require a building permit.

Site plan of the lot showing the proposed structure and all distances to lot lines
- Deck detail to include post size and spacing, beam size, spacing and spans, joist size, spacing and spans, and footing size, and depth for corners and intermediates. Please use this form.
