Use of Force and Citizen Complaint Policies

Use of Force and Citizen Complaint Policies

COMPLAINTS
The Kronenwetter Police Department is committed to investigating complaints in an open and impartial manner. Therefore, we will accept complaints against our employees and investigate all such complaints appropriately. We also recognize our obligation to use force in a judicious and constitutional manner and therefore we have our Use of Force policy available for the public.

For your convenience, we have also included a copy of our policy regarding citizen complaints, as well as our Citizen Complaint form. This form can also be obtained at the Kronenwetter Police Department Monday through Friday (8:00 a.m.—4:30 p.m.) or by e-mailing us at policeclerk@kronenwetter.org. We will also mail you a copy of the form if you prefer.

Complaints against officers and staff are handled by Lt. Smart or Chief McHugh; therefore, if you wish, you may contact either person by stopping into the department or via e-mail at officerchris@kronenwetter.org or tmchugh@kronenwetter.org

In the same manner as citizen complaints, you may also direct compliments about our officers to the Lieutenant or Chief of Police. We will ensure that the officer is made aware of your compliment.
