Municipal Court

Municipal Court

Honorable Judge: Daniel Cveykus
Village Attorney:  Harold Wolfgram

Welcome to the webpage of the Kronenwetter Municipal Court. We have created this page to provide you with information you may need about the municipal court process. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us or feel free to stop in.
Municipal Courts have jurisdiction over civil traffic and ordinance laws within their respective community, but do not enforce criminal laws. Refer to the top of your citation to see if you should appear in municipal or criminal court.
Kronenwetter Municipal Court
The municipal court is responsible for hearing traffic and ordinance violation cases that the Kronenwetter Police Department refers. As in any other court of law, you are entitled to be represented by an attorney; however, the court does not appoint an attorney or pay for attorney costs and/or expenses. If you received a citation from the Wisconsin State Patrol or the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, please refer to the circuit court.
Marathon County Circuit Court
The circuit court is responsible for and has authority regarding probate, adoptions, guardianships, and trusts, chapter 51 and related matters, small claims, divorce actions, paternity, criminal, juvenile matters, etc. The circuit court also takes traffic and ordinance cases for agencies that do not have a municipal court.
Note: It is possible that you may receive a citation(s) which require you to appear in both municipal and circuit courts as part of the same incident. Should you have any questions about which court to appear in, please refer to the top of the citation(s) you received.
