R.E.A.C.H. program
May 01, 2008
In April 2008 the department received three backpacks from the "With Wings and a Halo" organization. Each "B.A.C.K. Packet" as they are called has a variety of books for children. We also had many stuffed animals and beanie babies donated to us years ago, but to this point we have not had a feasible way of deploying them into the public.
These backpacks are located in each patrol vehicle. When officers find themselves in a crisis incident where children are involved, they can use the backpacks to help ease the pain these children may face by giving them a book or stuffed animal.
