 MARKED PATROL UNIT #K03
2007 FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR Marked patrol unit K03 is the newest addition to the fleet in May 2007. Also, you will notice that the department has adopted new vehicle graphics. These new graphics have reflective markings on the rear which will increase officer safety on the highways. Future patrol vehicles will have this design, and the silver signifies rank. Future patrol vehicles with the same design will be in gold, which will signify a supervisor. |

This patrol unit was the first ever police car
for the Village of Kronenwetter. It was added in the Spring of 2005 shortly after the creation of the Kronenwetter Police Department. |
MARKED RADAR TRAILER UNIT #KST01
2006 Decatur Electronics OnSite 350
This radar trailer was purchased in December of 2006. When we receive complaints about speeding vehicles or notice traffic problems, we will place the trailer into that area. The trailer helps remind people of the speed limit for that area, and if they are speeding it will flash a strobe light and the speed that they are going to remind them to slow down. It also has an information gathering module which gathers statistics, breaking them down into times of day, speed ranges etc. This will help our department understand areas that need increased traffic enforcement.  *UNMARKED POLICE UNIT #K031999 FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR
This 1999 Ford was added in 2005. The former K03 was purchased from the Village of Howard Fire Department, where it previously served as a fire response vehicle.
For nearly two years it served as the squad car for the Chief of Police, was utilized in special interdictions, and used for transportation for officer training. In April 2007 this vehicle was transferred to the Kronenwetter Fire Department to be used in various capacities. CLICK HERE TO SEE IT AS FIRE VEHICLE. |
