Every two years officers are required to attend a refresher course in emergency vehicle operation and control. On May 21, 2009 officers from the Kronenwetter Police Department attended a four hour course taught by Marathon County Lt. Mark Wagers at Northcentral Technical College on PIT maneuvers. The PIT maneuver (pursuit intervention technique) is used by officers to safely stop a vehicle pursuit. The college has special vehicles that are used specifically for this training.
