KRONENWETTER POLICE DEPARTMENT
FIREWORKS INFORMATION

Everyone from young to old loves an entertaining fireworks show. But a new trend of buy them and do it yourself has emerged and therefore a problem has emerged. In 2007, the Kronenwetter Police Department fielded a very large amount of fireworks complaints from citizens throughout the entire community. This led to our department confiscating thousands of dollars worth of fireworks. If fireworks were limited to the 4th of July, this may not be an issue. But area police agencies respond to fireworks complaints from April to October.
The main concerns with every community are noise and safety. Beside the obvious nuisance of loud explosions, people are concerned about the safety of the community. Fireworks are explosives and very powerful ones at that. Each year, we receive damage reports to residences and vehicles due to falling debris from fireworks. There is also the concern of the safety of people shooting the fireworks and possible fires being lit.
NOTICE: The Kronenwetter Police Department will have a ZERO-TOLERANCE to illegal fireworks in 2008. Anyone found in violation will be cited.
