The Kronenwetter Police Department has established an awards program to recognize our officers for outstanding performance while on duty. Below is a listing of some of the awards that have been issued to date.
PURPLE HEART AWARD:
2008 - Officer L. Lopes-Serrao: for injuries received in the line of duty. Officer Lopes-Serrao was chasing assault suspects on foot when the suspects entered a vehicle and then struck the officer with their vehicle.
MERITORIOUS CONDUCT AWARD
2007 - Officer L. Lopes-Serrao: the officer responded to an officer involved shooting and subsequent pursuit in Rothschild. Officer Lopes-Serrao deployed a tire deflation device and was then involved in an exchange of gunfire with the suspect.

LETTERS OF RECOGNITION
2009 - Officer A. Zortman: for his efforts to provide life-saving CPR during a medical emergency.
