BUILDING PERMITS

A building permit shall be obtained by the owner or his authorized agent from the Building Inspector before work may be started on the construction or moving of any building or structure within the Village of Kronenwetter. The building permit may be obtained by the owner or contractor, or by the party for whom the work is to be performed, but the property owner will be held responsible in case of failure to obtain the permit as provided in this Code, except as might hereinafter be provided.

The term building shall include any building and/or structure, and any enlargement, alteration, heating or ventilating installation, or anything affecting the fire hazards or safety of any building or structure.

Things you need to obtain a permit for a new home:

1. Sanitary permit
2. Two sets of blueprints
        a. elevation plans
        b. floor plans (can be the floor plan)
        c. electrical plan
        d. wall section
        e. truss calculations (including layout)

3. Plat Plan (which shows location of building on lot)
4. Energy Worksheet
5. Set Backs
a. 50 feet front starting from the property line
 b. 12 feet side and rear lot lines
c. 25 feet corner side yard

6. Other papers that need to be signed:
a. Application for Permit to Excavate (Building Inspector will determine when this form is required.)
 b. Culvert Application (Building Inspector will determine when this form is required.)
c. Erosion Control for Home Builders form
d. Liability for Damage to Village Road form
e. Cautionary Statement to Owners Obtaining Building Permits
 f. Permit to Connect 

7. Contractor's Certification of Home Owners Liability

The Village Public Works Director will determine if you need a culvert before putting in a driveway.
